Youth Engagement and Community Outreach – Canada (YECO), a non-profit start-up youth organization created in 2021 to address social issues affecting racialized youth living in low-income neighborhoods across Ottawa. YECO is committed to creating social issues and creating a safe and more inclusive community for young people.
Areas of Focus
Involving young people in decision-making processes, providing opportunities for their growth, and empowering them to become active participants in shaping our future.
Actively engage with and support local communities through meaningful partnerships, initiatives, and contributions
Safety and Inclusion
We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcomed, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique talents and ideas.
Youth Engagement and Community Outreach (YECO Canada) would like to acknowledge that we are located on the traditional, unceded, and unsurrendered territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin People. YECO respects the histories, languages, and cultures of Anishinaabe Algonquin People, First Nations, Métis, Inuit, and all First Peoples of Canada, whose presence continues to enrich our vibrant community. Through our work we create awareness around the social issues affecting racialized youth living in low-income neighborhoods across Ottawa. We embrace this responsibility to create a safe and inclusive community for young people.
