About Us

Youth Engagement and Community Outreach – Canada (YECO), a non-profit start-up youth organization created in 2021 to address social issues affecting racialized youth living in the low-income neighbourhood across Ottawa. YECO is committed to addressing social issues and creating a safe and more inclusive community for young people.

Our Programs

Youth-Led Community Engagement and Empowerment

Empower youth to take charge of their community’s development, enhance their skills, and contribute positively to society.

Cultural Integration and Exchange Events

This program promotes cultural diversity and integration among young people by organizing events and activities that facilitate cross-cultural understanding, respect, and collaboration.

Research and Advocacy for Community Safety

This program focuses on conducting research, raising awareness, and advocating for improved community safety measures directly affecting young people.
